About

Built by a student, because nobody built it for us.

Every year, thousands of high schoolers and undergraduates do genuine research. Almost none of it gets reviewed, archived or cited. It sits in a shared drive until the link rots. EDA exists to end that.

The existing options do not fit. Traditional journals are built around institutional affiliation and often charge thousands of dollars in processing fees. Preprint servers accept almost anything, which means a preprint does not signal much on its own. Science fair archives vanish. And a growing number of “student journals” publish everything submitted, which helps nobody: if nothing is rejected, acceptance means nothing.

So EDA runs actual peer review. At least two human reviewers with subject expertise, plus an editor who can and does reject. Papers that are not ready get told exactly why, with a route back. Papers that are ready get a registered DOI, a permanent archive, and indexing where researchers actually search.

The AI layer exists because volunteer reviewers are scarce and slow, not because AI is better at judgement. Five specialist agents read every submission and write structured reports. They catch missing citations, statistical errors, fabricated references and integrity problems fast. Then a human reads those reports and decides. The reports are never binding and never hidden.

We are pre-launch: working toward nonprofit status, recruiting an editorial board, and building the review pipeline in the open. If you want to review, sit on the board, or partner as a school, we would like to hear from you.

Principles

Six commitments we will not trade away.

01

Free at both ends

No article processing charges for authors, no subscription for readers. The moment a venue charges either side, it starts serving whoever pays instead of whoever reads.

02

One standard, not a junior league

A high schooler's paper is held to the same bar as a postdoc's. An easier track for younger authors would make publication here worthless to the students who earned it.

03

AI assists, humans decide

AI reports are advisory and disclosed in full. Only a named human editor can accept or reject. We will not be the venue that let a model decide what counts as knowledge.

04

Permanent, and honest about it

A DOI resolves forever. That cuts both ways, so we offer pseudonyms at submission and publish retractions openly rather than quietly deleting records.

05

Open by default

CC BY 4.0, a public API, an OAI-PMH endpoint, and deposits to independent archives so the corpus outlives us.

06

Transparent finances

Every expense is published. You can see what a paper costs us to review, store and register.

Help us build the venue we all needed at seventeen.
