Pre-launch
Authors never pay. Somebody has to.
Charging students to publish would defeat the entire point, and charging readers would too. So EDA runs on donations — and publishes exactly where every dollar goes.
What your money does
Our costs are small and almost entirely variable — they scale with the number of papers we review, not with staff. Reviewers and editors are volunteers. Nobody draws a salary.
DOI registration
$0.25 per paperCrossref charges per record for posted content. This is the fee that makes your work permanently citable.
AI review panel
~$0.90 per submissionFive advisory agents reading a full manuscript, with a hard cost ceiling per paper so a long submission cannot run away with the budget.
Storage and delivery
~$0.02 per paper per yearPapers move to cheaper archival storage as they age. Published versions are kept forever.
Membership and compliance
~$200 per yearCrossref membership, registration and the boring paperwork that keeps a publisher legitimate.
Your gift is not tax-deductible. EDA is pre-launch and currently runs as a sole proprietorship, Eda Holding. That means donations are ordinary taxable income to the business, not charitable gifts — you cannot deduct them, and your receipt is not a tax receipt.
We are working toward nonprofit status. Every dollar goes into running the platform — review, DOIs, storage — and we publish the numbers. If that changes, this page changes with it.
